The Grey Zone (2001)
Tim Blake Nelson asked me to write only one piece of music for The Grey Zone. There was to be no score in the film itself, as Tim wanted to maintain an extremely harsh aesthetic throughout. A 7 minute tail-credits cue was what he required, to give the audience something to ponder in the film’s powerful wake. The resulting piece features a Klezmer ensemble, led with a lovely violin solo by the late Robert Korda.
